December 2015: End of the First Semester – Let the Adventure Begin!

January 25, 2016

December revolved only about one thing: the end of the first semester, the end of the first continent and the first part of my one-year adventure around the world. December came much quicker than I realized. I learned so much and experienced so many things that it seems like a whole year has gone by, but at the same time it feels like we’re still in October.

December began in Montpellier, where I went to visit my best friend Aaron. I was able to recharge my batteries after a couple of tough working days and two weeks of a painful illness – I was able to go full speed at school again.

The last mile

The last couple of weeks at the Antwerp Management School were filled with stuff – again. Besides the company visits we were invited to – Materialize, the biggest 3D company in the world, and McKinsey, a big consulting agency – I had to make the deadline for our master project, study for an exam that involved calculating (kill me now) and we also had to present that same master project in front of a jury.

In the meantime I was also guiding a colleague from the AMSlife team around in my hometown on a free Wednesday afternoon. I also went to visit my aunt in Hasselt and attended a lecture in Brussels on traveling around the world with almost no money.

We ended the semester at AMS with a cosy farewell dinner at De Negen Vaten, which is a Spanish restaurant with delicious tapas. The perfect ending to a great semester.

(By the way, by now I can proudly announce that I passed all my exams!)
